Qualifications

Must hold a current teaching certificate from Oregon or have experience working as a Preschool teacher with an AA degree in Early Childhood development, or at least 3 years of experience. Salary negotiable.

Job Description

- Plan August parent orientation
- Call parents in August
- Update parent handbook
- Plan school year calendar--coordinate holidays, & conferences with Salem/Keizer School Dist.
- Order school T-shirts
- Attend immunization training, handle forms, and immunization records
- Plan field trips, guest speakers
- Make Monthly tuition deposits
- Monthly parent calendar with themes, snacks, field trips
- Plan and carry out Preschool Sunday
- Plan parent programs, i.e. Christmas program, Easter Program/Egg Hunt, Mother's Day Tea, Donuts for Dads, Movie nights, Graduation
- Report cards and conferences in November and at the end of year (May)
- Develop good rapport with other teacher, assistants, parents and church office staff
- Order/buy/make supplies and equipment for classroom - snack cups, play dough, construction paper, crafts, paint, toys, etc.
- Meet with Redeemer Church Staff as needed
- Meet with Board of Education each month during the school year.  Provide a written report.

Additional Information

- Must have current First aid & CPR card and background check (paid for by the church)
- Classes held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (3’s & 4’s combined in a 5 day a week program, 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
- Must take continuing education classes, attend the NW District Lutheran Teacher conference or an approved workshop each year.  Approval is from the Church Board of Education.
