The Lord’s Prayer
as Re-Formation

Lenten Sunday Sermon Series

When Jesus is asked a direct question, He rarely gives a direct answer. More often, He tells a story, poses a question of His own, or leaves space for His hearers to wrestle and reflect. But when His disciples come to Him and say, “Teach us to pray,” Jesus does something rare. He answers plainly. “Pray like this.”

From the very beginning of the Church, the Lord’s Prayer has held a unique place in Christian faith and practice. Not because the words are magic, but because they are formative. Simple words. Infinite depth. A prayer we learn by heart and spend a lifetime discovering. It is a way of speaking to God, and at the same time a prayer that speaks to us, naming who God is, who we are, and what we most deeply need.

During this Lenten season, our Sunday sermons will slow down and linger with the Lord’s Prayer as a prayer of re-formation. Not something to be mastered, but something that shapes us. Not a technique, but a gift. As we pray these familiar words together, we listen for how God uses them to form trust, dependence, forgiveness, and hope as we walk the road toward Holy Week and Easter.

This page serves as the central hub for The Lord’s Prayer as Re-Formation. You can begin with the Sunday journey below, or return here throughout Lent as sermons, reflections, and prayer resources are added week by week.
